Dylan's Week 5 Picks

Alright, I gained three games on Tex last week and now sit at 39-24 after my 11-4 showing last week.  I'm looking to keep it going with this week's picks:

UPSET:   Bills at Browns:  BILLS.  Whelp, that didn’t work out so well.  I had been doing so well with my TNF picks, but not this week.

Chiefs at Titans:  CHIEFS.  A large part of me tells me to pick the Titans as an upset, and I should have done it over the Bills.  I think the Titans have overachieved so far, though, so I’ll take the Chiefs.

Ravens at Dolphins:  DOLPHINS.  This goes to show how little faith I have in the Ravens this season, because I am not a believer in the Dolphins at all.

LOCK: Jaguars at Rams:  RAMS.  It’s a pretty safe bet to lock anyone who plays the Jaguars this year.  There’s a lot of buzz about Tebow joining the team on Monday – we’ll see what happens.

WASH: Patriots at Bengals:  PATRIOTS.  The Patriots are the better team, but they’re due for a loss.  The Bengals would be a great team to give them that loss.  But, the Patriots are the better team.  On top of it all, the spread is -1.  This is my wash pick.

Seahawks at Colts:  SEAHAWKS.  This could be a tough one for Seattle, but, like the Broncos, I will be picking them until they lose.

Lions at Packers:  PACKERS.  The Packers are rested from the bye week, healthy after some nagging injuries, and angry after a 1-2 start.  I would not want to play them.

Saints at Bears:  BEARS.  Tex beat me to it, and I’m surprised he made this pick, but this will be the Saints’ first loss.  The Bears are the worst possible matchup for the Saints because they have the best defensive playmakers in the NFL and can confuse Drew Brees.  Cutler has deep threats in Marshall and Jeffrey to keep the Saints honest and set up the running game for Matt Forte.   Look for the Bears to score one or two defensive touchdowns in a narrow victory.

Eagles at Giants:  GIANTS.  Ok, I know I said that the Giants couldn’t start 0-4, but there is NO WAY they start 0-5.  Giants will take this one by ten points or more.

Panthers at Cardinals:  PANTHERS.  “Cam, Caaaaaaam!” will have a great game, throwing continually to whatever side of the field Patrick Peterson is not on.  The Cardinals’ offense has been so disappointing to me this year, and I don’t see them doing much against even Carolina’s shoddy secondary.

Broncos at Cowboys:  BRONCOS.  I’m really looking forward to this game.  There’s so much star power in this matchup.  Look for Peyton to notch another victory in a high-scoring affair.  I see Dallas being competitive in the first half, with Denver pulling away by several scores in the second.  Tex just threw away his pick lead over me in this game.

Texans at 49ers:  49ERS.  I haven’t had much faith in the Texans so far this year, and I just don’t see them being competitive on the road in front of a rowdy 49ers crowd.  Look for Colin Kaepernick (AHYEYEYEYE!) to have a good showing and for the 9ers to win by 10.

Chargers at Raiders:  CHARGERS.  I have insomnia, and I might not even stay up until the end of this game.  The Chargers should win in a slow, boring, grind-it-out victory.

Jets at Falcons:  FALCONS.  As much as I hate Atlanta, I will admit they are better than the Jets.  What a snoozer of a Monday Night Football game.
