'Twas the week before Christmas, and all through my house
Every matchup was stirring, even the 'Skins and the Cows
But who should arise full of holiday cheer?
It’s Tex with his picks rhyming for the 3^rd straight freaking year!

Thursday Night Game

Wait, what’s this I see? No horrible game?

So the NFL has seen that Thursday games are lame?

Or maybe they realized they need to end well

At least until next year with the return of Thursday Night Hell

Sunday Early Afternoon Games

Dolphins @ Bills: DOLPHINS

Our first matchup brings us some holiday cheer.

Can either team win their division next year?

Maybe so, but my pick goes to the team who need wins

To make that last wild card. My pick is the 'Phins.

Saints @ Panthers: SAINTS

“Who Dat?” I must say in this holiday clash

The Saints will bounce back making Cam into Who Hash

The Saints, I have seen, always bounce back strong

My ten bucks are hoping that I didn’t pick wrong…

Cowboys @ Redskins: COWBOYS

Last week was horrendous, it hurt to the core.

This week Dallas has to act like they’re going to war.

They just need to RUN, especially when ahead

Or else their playoff hopes will end the day dead.

Buccaneers @ Rams: RAMS

Good gravy, if the Rams had played all year like last week,

They might have snagged that division win they seek.

At least they have some hope for next season.

That is, unless, they have a bad draft for some reason.

Browns @ Jets: BROWNS

How on earth are the Jets not the 'dog?

How have they shown lately they’ve come out of their fog?

Forget that, I’m stickin with the Browns

Who at least show some dignity when they go down.

Colts @ Chiefs: CHIEFS

I don’t feel confident about that big point spread,

But the Chiefs are starting to show why other teams should dread

Playing them in January, this team is starting to gel.

How far will they go? Only time will tell.

Vikings @ Bengals: BENGALS

The Bengals was everyone’s Cinderella pick,

But lately they’re simply making everyone sick.

They need to bounce back if they want their division

Or else Cincinnati will be the target of derision.

Broncos @ Texans: BRONCOS

The Broncos, as always, will bounce back big

Despite being smoked by the Chargers like a cig.

Good thing they’re playing the horrible Texans.

Right now, I don’t think even the 'Boys couldn’t get wins.

Titans @ Jaguars: TITANS

I’m surprised at how well the Jags have played of late.

They might have been playoff contenders if they’d played out the gate.

But the Titans are too good, especially with Ryan.

The Jags will look good, but will come up short tryin'.

Sunday Late Afternoon Games

Cardinals @ Seahawks: SEAHAWKS

The Seahawks took a while to get the ball moving

Last week, and you know that doesn’t get me approving.

Still they finished strong, as they’ve done all year long.

I think they’re going out of their way to prove me wrong.

Giants @ Lions: GIANTS

Whoo, boy, didn’t I tell you a few weeks back

That the Lions will choke? I mean, that is their knack.

All of a sudden, Da Bears and Pack are back in the race.

I’m gonna WASH this game, but I see the Lions ending in disgrace.

Raiders @ Chargers: CHARGERS

Wow, I truly though the Chargers would crumble.

Instead, you can see this team starting to rumble.

Will they make the playoffs? I don’t really know.

They will, though, beat the Raiders to continue their show.

Steelers @ Packers: PACKERS

The Packers are definitely making this division really fun.

They’ve been without Rodgers, but somehow still won.

Can they retake their division with a Matt Flynn winning streak?

Or is it too little, too late coming on the second-to-last week?

Patriots @ Ravens: RAVENS

The Ravens are trying to be relevant again.

I think they’ll solidify it this week with a win.

The Patriots without Gronk are a sad sight so see.

A Merry Christmas for Brady it surely won’t be.

Sunday Night Game

Bears @ Eagles: DA BEARS

Cutler recovered nicely in the 2^nd half,

Despite all the hate that would have made him laugh.

I think the Eagles got as good as they’d get,

Which is why I pick Da Bears as my weekly UPSET.

Monday Night Game

Falcons @ 49ers: 49ERS

The Falcons feel good with their win last week,

Despite it being against the Redskins, and a win by a squeak.

That’s ok, because the 9ers will fill their stockings

With Falcon bones, thus, this game is my LOCK(ings).

So I hope that you have enjoyed my Christmas picks.

Maybe you should enjoy them with hot cocoa and cinnamon sticks.

Just please keep in mind, this holiday season

That this is just football, and life has more reason.

I reflect on this year, and I count all my blessings.

I guess what I’m saying is here are my confessings:

This year’s been a blast, sometimes good sometimes bad,

But all events that I’m glad that I had.

This football season, itself, has been a great year,

Even if, as a Cowboys fan, I’ve had less to cheer.

Just know that regardless of fanship, my sentiment is the same:
