Young Guns - Week 13

Twitter: @WhitestAsianEVR

Send your Fantasy Football questions, comments, and suggestions! Thanksgiving week is here, and that means lots of family, friends, food, and football! I'm pumped, and I hope you all enjoy some well deserved time off and have the chance to do absolutely nothing. Let's get to it!

3 STARS

(*) LUKE KUECHLY- Yes. My first defensive "3 Stars Young Gun" ever. Complain all you want about refs going easy on this kid, but that doesn't change the fact that he has gone absolute beastmode this year. Expect that to continue as he harasses up and coming Mike Glennon and Bobby Rainey. Like these guys? Skip to the bottom of my article.

(*) ALSHON JEFFERY- This is going to be an ugly game and I expect Jeffery to get some monster yardage against the ViQueens pass defense.

(*) MICHAEL FLOYD- He has back-to-back 100 yard games and he's going up against the Eagles, who rank LAST in pass defense this year. Do what you want with that info...

KEEP AN EYE ON:

EDDIE LACY- Packers continue to lean on this kid in the absence of Rodgers and Cobb. He'll get a lot of touches, and, while a lot of those are going to be predictable, Detroit's defense is both questionable and undisciplined.

DEMARCO MURRAY- The Boys are desperate for a win against the Raiders in a tight playoff race with Philly. Murray is one of their best weapons (depending on how healthy he is) and you have to like any matchup with the Raiders.

MATT McGLOIN- Speaking of those Raiders, I'm very interested to see if their young QB can continue his impressive play against a weak pass defense in Dallas. He could be a big winner for your Fantasy team.

LeVEON BELL / TORREY SMITH- Let's throw these guys into the mix. Both of these teams are turning it around at the last minute. Both are desperate for a win. Playing under the Thanksgiving Day spotlight, I expect these guys to contribute in a close, physical game.

JOSH GORDON- Last week he made me look good, and I still think he's one of the most underrated WRs in the league. You have to like a matchup against the Jags this week. Why I don't have him starred? Don't laugh, but if you look at the Jags secondary, it's actually not that bad.

CORDARRELLE PATTERSON- Another good matchup for him against the Bears. This kid is as explosive and exciting as they come. It's just a shame he has Ponder for a QB.

GIOVANI BERNARD- My favorite rookie RB is coming off a bye in a key game. Rivers is hot, but I think the Bengals will end his run with a big W and a TD from Gio.

A.J. GREEN- I am thinking of doing a "Young Guns" Hall of Fame, where the elite young players from the last couple years are no longer mentioned because of their accomplishments already (Luck, Newton, etc.) But this week, I've received numerous fantasy questions involving Green and other options at the WR position. A.J. is overdue for an A.J.-like game and I think he comes up big against the Chargers this week.

KENDALL WRIGHT- He has been good, and I like the matchup this week against the Colts.

And last, but certainly not least...

DANGERUSS and GOLDEN TATE - These guys are good. I love the Seahawks, and I REALLY love the Seahawks at home. I'm expecting a good game from Tate, but a GREAT game from Russell Wilson, who steps up in the big games...running, passing, whatever he has to do to win. And this is a big game. Is anyone else surprised that they didn't give us the Giants/Skins game for MNF? Thank God...wait a minute, that's our SNF game...

TO YOUR BENCH (Always assuming you have comparable options at the position)

MIKE GLENNON- This kid is going to be really good IMO. But he's against the hottest defense in the league. Kuechly smash...

BOBBY RAINEY- Kuechly smash more.

T.Y. HILTON- He's been struggling, and this week he'll be up against a tough Titans pass defense.

FOLES- For ANYONE who has read ANY of my articles, I liked Nick Foles before he was cool. While people were riding the Vick bandwagon or jumping on the Barkley bandwagon, I defended Foles, and with much criticism. Now that he has proven himself as a desirable Fantasy QB and a legit starter, we have to take a step back this week. Unless you have no other options, and as much as it hurts me to say this, you really have to think about benching Foles against the Cards defense.

TAVON AUSTIN- I still like him. People need to go easy on him and relax. Give him some time to mature. Everyone can't step foot on the field and become Megatron. With time, this kid will shine. He's explosive and flat out lightning fast. That said, he should be on your bench against the 49ers defense this week.

ZAC STACY (?) - Totally your call. He has been nothing short of impressive all year. But you have to wonder about his health even if he does play, combined with going up against a tough defense. That said, if he IS healthy, he has had good success against top defenses this year. Have fun with this decision.

DEMOTED: NO LONGER YOUNG GUNS AS OF THIS WEEK
New! With multiple requests, I think it's a great idea. This column is for the people, so let them speak! Think of this as Power Rankings for failure. So if you follow football regularly, and ESPECIALLY if you have a Fantasy Football team, you will probably agree and love this part.

LAMAR MILLER (can I get an AMEN?)

DeANDRE HOPKINS (this one kills me, and I don't expect him to stay here)

AND...wait for it... ... ... ...

TRENT RICHARDSON (OK, everyone give yourselves a round of applause)

  1. Yes! The Jags defense finally gets some props! They've been playing well the last few weeks.
