Thursday Night Game
49ers @ Rams (+3) – RAMS: So, last week, I am used my upset
pick on the Thursday night game, and it worked out for me. As was evidenced in
the pre-season, I picked the Rams to win this division. Now, as of yet, that doesn’t
look too good, but this could be the start of their run to make Seattle
nervous. I’m picking the Rams at home where they beat all the other NFC West
teams a year ago. However, I am not as convinced this should be my upset pick
when there is a far better one down the line.
Sunday Early Afternoon Games
Steelers “@” Vikings (+2.5) – STEELERS: WOW!!!! I am going
to WASH this out so bad. The Vikings got owned by the Browns and their BACKUP
QUARTERBACK!!!! The Steelers, oh the Steelers, how I LOVE to watch you suffer.
I am thoroughly enjoying this horrific Steelers team. However, they have lost
to some solid opponents that could very well be playoff teams. The Vikings lost
to the Browns. Oh, did I mention this game is in London and that no one should
care about this matchup out of principal? Seriously, London games are stupid,
and they suck for 1 team’s fan base, who get gypped out of a home game. More on
that later…
Ravens @ Bills (+3) – RAVENS: The Ravens showed some life
last week, albeit on the defensive side of the ball, and I think that should
provide some hope for Ravens fans, but watch out for this Bills team. I think
they’re a season or 2 away from playoff contention, but boy do they look
improved with a new regime and a new QB.
Bengals @ Browns (+4.5) – BENGALS: Vegas obviously got
scared away because the Browns actually got a win, but I think the
Bengals are going to run roughshod upon the Browns, and the Brian Hoyer
Honeymoon will come to a screeching halt.
Colts @ Jaguars (+8.5) – COLTS: Oh, poor Dylan. Your team is
so bad. Just, horrendous. Seriously, the only hope is that the owner is trying
to play the football equivalent of moneyball. Colts are LOCKED up this week.
Seahawks @ Texans (+2.5) – SEAHAWKS: I am not about to doubt
the Seahawks at this point. They have looked remarkable. It is only week 4, but
they have dominated early on. That Panthers game just makes Carolina look
better than we thought.
Cardinals @ Buccaneers (-2.5) – CARDINALS: There is no way the
Bucs are winning with their backup. Especially considering that the Cardinals
are better than their 1-2 record would indicate.
Bears @ Lions (-3) – DA BEARS: WHAT?!?!?!?! The Bears are
3-0 and have dominated. The Lions look blah. Why… what? Huh? UPSET
Giants @ Chiefs (-4.5) – CHIEFS: Who honestly thought at the
beginning of the season that the Jets are the better team in New York? Come on.
Raise your hand. YOU’RE A LIAR!!!! No one thought that, but boy do the Giants
suck. It’s all the more entertaining with the stupid faces Eli “Derp” Manning
makes and the way Tom “What?” Coughlin responds. Chiefs win and win big.
Sunday Late Afternoon Games
Jets @ Titans (-3.5) – TITANS: This might actually be an
entertaining game, certainly it will be more exciting than most thought at the
onset of the season. I’m picking the home team, though.
Cowboys @ Chargers (+2) – COWBOYS: This is probably a good
line. The Chargers won last meeting despite a great game by Romo, but that was
a December game, so it cancels out. I don’t think the Chargers are surprising
anyone with their late-game collapses, but they do have a different swagger
about them. They probably will get some good wins down the line.
Redskins @ Raiders (+3) – RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREDSKINS: Ha, I got
you, didn’t I? Admit it, you thought I was going to pick the Raiders, didn’t
you? Ok, the Redskins HAVE to get a win at some point, and beating up on the
Raiders might be the way to get a streak going. By the way, I don’t think I’ve
ever seen so many visiting teams favored in a given week. This is game #8 that
favors the visitors. Expect a weird week.
Sunday Night Game
Eagles @ Broncos (-10.5) – BRONCOS: I will not be picking
against the Broncos often, and certainly not at home. They look good, but
Peyton’s numbers have gone down. Most of that is because backups played a good
amount of last week’s game, so look for Manning to have a resurgence against
the open gate to the endzone that is the Eagles defense.
Monday Night Game
Dolphins @ Saints (-6.5) – SAINTS: The Dolphin have looked good. They might give the Saints a run for their money, but the Superdome is
insane to try to win in if you aren’t wearing Black and Gold. Who Dat nation
will not be disappointed.
Fine, I'll admit it, I fell for it. I actually read it as Raiders and then had to backtrack, haha.
