Tex's Week 11 Picks

Week 11 Picks

I'm 90-56-1!!!! Can you believe it? After starting out fairly average, I'm starting to get a better groove. I don't think I've had a negative week since week 6, which also happened to have been my absolute worst week. That's 4 weeks of 9+ wins and 4+ points!!!! I am definitely looking to improve.

Dolphins @ Bills: BILLS - This could go either way, but the bottom line is that the home team gets my pick. It does feel weird picking the Bills, but a return to normalcy picking against the Dolphins.

Eagles @ Redskins: REDSKINS - Ya know, RG3 makes me somewhat regret that I have to hate him. He is very fun to watch, and he has a great, mature attitude about him. All the same.... BOO!!!! GO AWAY!!!! BOTH THESE TEAMS SUCK!!!!

Packers @ Lions: PACKERS - Not a whole lot of surprise here. The Packers are hot, the Lions are not. Rodgers is preparing his Discount Double Check for right in front of Schwartz's face.

Cardinals @ Falcons: FALCONS - As much as I would LOVE the Cardinals to win, they just aren't good enough to pull this off. I think they even put Leinart back on their speed dial, just in case they need a (somehow) less inept quarterback.

Buccaneers @ Panthers: BUCCANEERS - Whoa, the Bucs are getting the push in Charlotte? I mean, I know it's just 1.5, but still, Atlanta is complaining that Vegas is giving the Bucs more respect than them.

Browns @ Cowboys: COWBOYS - It's November, at home, against the lowly Browns. This is gonna be a nice day for Romo to teach Dez how to play catch.

Jets @ Rams: RAMS - Dadgumit, the Rams are FAVORED in a game. They're like my go-to upset pick. Seriously, how bad do the Jets suck? Oh, right, they have Mark Sanchez. Thanks for reminding me.

Colts @ Patriots: COLTS - This is, pretty obviously, my upset pick. First off, that 9 point line is an insult to the Colts. They have been playing great, and the Patriots have been underachieving. This reminds me in the NFL Blitz days when Dallas was inexplicably the best team in the game. Why? Because the game said "Learn your history." Why are the Patriots favored by 9? Because one time, Bellicheck and Brady won 3 Super Bowls in 4 years, and the owner wasn't a moron and go and fire said coach. I don't understand, and if I could, I'd say it's a lock that the Colts, at the very least, cover the line.

Jaguars @ Texans: TEXANS - As much as I don't like to lock in the obvious game, due to my "live dangerously" motto, this game is my lock, and it is a lock that the Texans are the team to beat in the NFL. It is also the only decent-to-big point spread I trust.

Bengals @ Chiefs: BENGALS - I think Dalton found his groove at the expense of Eli. You know what really grinds my gears, though? Freakin half of the Bengals team is made up of former Cowboys who didn't know how to play in Dallas. Now all of a sudden, a defense that has 2 corners from the Cowboys old roster who couldn't play has exploded with these former Cowboys all of a sudden remembering what this game of football is.

Saints @ Raiders: SAINTS - The Saints have most definitely found their groove, and last week they regained their swagger. This will be a fun matchup for New Orleans fans.

Chargers @ Broncos: BRONCOS - 2 years ago, I thought Peyton was the best quarterback to ever play the game. I am now assured of it. I have never seen anyone so surgical and precise in embarrassing grown men who are professionals. That AFC champion pick? I may be completely wrong in that Peyton may be able to beat the Texans.

Ravens @ Steelers: RAVENS - With Ben out, I don't have to waste my wash pick on this one. Leftwich is gonna wish Ben was the one getting smacked around all night.

Bears @ 49ers: DA BEARS - Yeah, I know I'm taking 2 sizeable upsets today. Look, I don't know why the 49ers are getting so much credit. Alex Smith is "in line to play." So what? Even with Cutler out, Jason Campbell can manage enough to allow his defense to score more points. I just don't think that the 49ers defense will cause as much trouble as the Bears defense will. However, I know what Dylan is going to say: "But Tex, your 49ers! You would pick against them?" Yeah well, I'm picking against them in my wash pick. I don't know which QB is playing, so it's better safe than sorry.
