YOUNG GUNS 3 STARS OF THE WEEK

(*) NICK FOLES- Foles should have another strong day against the Lions defense. Expect fellow Young Gun Riley Cooper to be a direct beneficiary.

(*) DEMARCO MURRAY- Fresh off a monster Thanksgiving night game, expect him to continue his fantasy throttling against the pathetic Bears defense.

(*) ALSHON JEFFERY- Now that the cat's out of the bag for good, the normal Fantasy Football owner should expect big things from Jeffery against the Cowboys secondary.

YOUNG GUNS - FANTASY UPSIDE THIS WEEK

JOSH McCOWN- He'll be the one throwing all those passes to Alshon.

MONTEE BALL- Moreno definitely doesn't look 100%. Tennessee has a surprisingly good pass defense, so expect Denver to run the ball with Montee getting his share of carries.

JOSH GORDON- The most underrated WR in the league should put up another solid week against the Pats, whose defense was completely exposed by the Bridgewater Bowl Champion Houston Texans not long ago.

GIO BERNARD- We know the Colts don't have a good defense, and Gio has the ability to beat them with both the run and pass.

TORREY SMITH- Almost starred him against the Vikings this week. Every game is a must-win for the Ravens, who look to put things together in hopes of another playoff appearance.

BERNARD PIERCE- I've said it all year. Pierce > Rice ...I don't know how many people agree with me, but if this kid gets enough of a chance, he will take advantage of it. I'd love to see that happen against the ViQueens defense.

EDDIE LACY- His numbers have been limited of late with the Packers less than dynamic offense, but he has another chance against a weak Falcons team. If Rodgers is actually able to start, I would expect a big game from Lacy.

MIKE GLENNON- I think Glennon is the real deal. If he ever gets a team around him, I'd love to see what he could do. The Bills this week should be an interesting game, definitely worth keeping an eye on him.

LE'VEON BELL- Thank God he is alright after that devastating collision on Thanksgiving. If he's in the lineup, I expect him to run over the floundering Dolphins.

LUKE KUECHLY- Dylan and I (not Tex) called the destruction of the Saints last week in Seattle. Now everyone thinks they will be pissed off and get a win going back home. This is my upset game of the week (an upset for our blog is any game with a spread of 3 or more). Carolina is built to upset ANY team in the league, and while I expect this to be a close, hard fought game, LUUUKKE, Cam and the rest of the Panthers have a decent chance to send all of New Orleans into mild depression.

MICHAEL FLOYD- He's getting used to 100 yard games (or 99 if you count last week) Anyone who bets football knows to stay away from ANY game involving the Rams, but Floyd is definitely worth the gamble depending on your options.

YOUNG GUNS BENCH (Always assuming you have comparable options at the position)

RG3 and ALFRED MORRIS- Don't mistake our rants about KC to mean we don't think they are a good football team. They are, with a strong defense, they just shouldn't be top 5 in anyone's Power Rankings. That said, they should be able to shut down a struggling and confused Redskins team.

CORDARRELLE PATTERSON- This kid is as talented and explosive as they come. I apologize for the redundancy to my weekly readers, but it is an absolute shame he is wasted on the ViQueens. As much as I like him, you have to bench him against the Ravens, who are starting to play good football as they fight for their playoff lives. Don't see this one ending in a tie...

RYAN TANNEHILL- Another talented kid against a Steelers team who, like the Ravens, are starting to play much better with every game being a must-win for their playoff hopes.

TAVON AUSTIN- The fact that you have to wonder which Tavon will show up is not a great option to start with. Playing the Cardinals defense doesn't help.

ZAC STACY- We know Stacy is the real deal. What I'm not sure about is whether if he's 100%. Like Tavon, a Cardinals defense doesn't exactly help his cause.

DangeRUSS / GOLDEN TATE- Seattle should be at the top of your Power Rankings. No arguments. With that said, the 49ers have a very, very good chance to beat them this week. Russell is running over everyone and I absolutely love it, but sadly, I don't expect that to continue this week. As for Tate, this kid is very talented but needs to learn how to sit down and shut the $*&# up. Stop with the taunting. Stop with the stupid penalties. This week especially, the 49ers defense should have him frustrated all day.

COLIN KAEPERNICK- Nobody should ever want to play the Hawks defense, which is why I would bench Kaepernick this week. While he very may come away with an upset, don't think he's going to do it with dazzling Fantasy numbers. Can't wait to watch this one!

KENNY STILLS- He reminds me of Tavon Austin. Fast. Explosive. Which Kenny is going to show up? The fact that Brees spreads the ball around better than most doesn't help. Throw in a side of Luke Kuechly and, yeah...sit him this week.

YOUNG GUNS FANTASY DEMOTION

TERRANCE WILLIAMS -
It's not like he's blown games or anything, but he just doesn't set himself apart, make plays, or really take advantage of his opportunities, more than other rookies are getting.

  1. Foles will have a MONSTER day. I would have starred Torrey Smith, though....that Vikings secondary is bad, and Flacco loves to air it out to him.

  2. Like I said, I definitely thought about it ;) Everyone here in MI is convinced Foles struggles today. I disagree 110%.

    1. I don't think Foles will struggle, but I am taking the Lions to win. He's not on Stafford's level yet, and I don't see that Eagles secondary containing Megatron.
