Well, Thanksgiving started out fairly well for me as far as
picks, but it, once again, delineated into a mediocre 9-7 week. I am in need of
a huge week this week, and I did not start out so well on Thursday. Let us
begin.
Thursday Night Game
Texans @ Jaguars: TEXANS – Seriously, who would have thought
that this team was so grossly inept that they were going to lose this many in a
row after an amazing year last year. This is seriously the most disappointing
team I’ve seen in a long, long time. How can I not pick against them the rest
of the year?
Sunday Early Afternoon Games
Chiefs @ Redskins: CHIEFS – After a 3 game slump, the Chiefs
are due for a rebound game, especially now that they seem to have found an
offense the past 2 weeks. Look for more RG3-whatever jokes across the internet,
because that hasn’t gotten old at all.
Vikings @ Ravens: RAVENS – The Ravens look like they’ve
found some mojo, and they might be making a late-season push. Watch out,
because this team has learned how to win again.
Browns @ Patriots: PATRIOTS – Is there really a question
here? I mean, the Browns seem doomed to have Weeden as their quarterback simply
because he can somehow stay healthy. The Browns were a great pick to be the
surprise to us all, but too many injuries have doomed them. Conversely, the
Patriots look healthy and ready to make yet another playoff run. LOCK this baby
in.
Raiders @ Jets: RRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAIIIDDDEEERRRRRRS!!!! – Oh
yeah, McGloin is going to show Geno exactly what a rookie should be doing in
his first year: giving promise for next year. At least the Jets know that Geno
sucks now rather than figuring it out a few years from now. I’m even gonna go
ahead and call this my UPSET.
Colts @ Bengals: BENGALS – I’m not sure why the spread is so
big, but the Bengals at home should still win.
Lions @ Eagles: LIONS – This is a hard one, both to pick and
to figure out for whom I should root. See, I can’t stand either team, and I
also think both teams are going to end the season very weakly. The Eagles have
been overachieving, and the Lions always choke. As it is, I’m gonna just go
with the Lions because I think that their defense will slow the Eagles down
enough to let Megatron and Reggie Bush to run roughshod upon the Eagles’
defense.
Dolphins @ Steelers: STEELERS – I think the Steelers have
found enough of their swagger to win at home against the almost-good Dolphins.
I don’t like it, but sure, I’ll take them at home.
Bills @ Bucs: BILLS – The Bucs got a huge shot of reality
this past week. The Bills have been a tough win all year long, and the Bucs are
going to find out why.
Falcons @ Packers: PACKERS – I don’t care about the Falcons
somehow won a game last week. I don’t care that the Packers have done horribly
sans Rodgers and that they still don’t have him back. The Packers win at home.
Sunday Late Afternoon Games
Titans @ Broncos: BRONCOS – I was going to lock this one,
but the Patriots just seem so good, I hate to show disrespect. The Titans have
also been surprisingly competitive this year, so you never know what could
happen.
Rams @ Cardinals: CARDINALS – If I’ve said it once, I’ve
said it a thousand times: The Cardinals have the most underrated home field
advantage in the country. The Rams have shown some fight, but it doesn’t matter
in Glendale.
Giants @ Chargers: CHARGERS – This is the week that the
Giants are officially eliminated from playoff contention and the Chargers stave
off one more week of it. See, Dylan? That 4 game winning streak meant nothing.
Seahawks @ 49ers: 49ERS – I will admit: The Seahawks
impressed me last week against the Saints. They are the best team in the league
right now. However, the 49ers are in desperate need of a win in order to earn
that 5th seed, and in Candlestick, I give the edge to the 9ers.
Sunday Night Game
Panthers @ Saints: SAINTS – Don’t be fooled by last week;
the Saints are still the Top Dog in the South. I would write an article
explaining why the Panthers arte overhyped, but all it would be doing is
attacking Dylan’s credibility. I don’t dislike the Panthers, but they are NOT
the 2nd best team in the NFL by any stretch of the imagination.
Monday Night Game
Cowboys @ Bears: COWBOYS – I really don’t know what to
expect in this game. On one hand, Da Bears have disappointed me nearly every
week. On the other hand, it’s December, and the Cowboys are… questionable in
December, to say the least. It should be no surprise that I am taking the Cowboys,
but I am going to WASH this pick out seeing as how it’s in Chicago, and Da
Bears are just too unpredictable.
