Dylan's Week 2 Picks

Week 2 Picks

Wow....week 1 was tough.  The Panthers, Bills, and Chiefs let me down in a huge way, as they are my 3 surprise teams to make the playoffs this year.  I'm hoping all or at least some of them can rebound in week 2, as teams rarely make the playoffs after an 0-2 start.  Anyway, here it goes:

Bears at Packers:  PACKERS.  I really could see the Bears taking it, and they are my Super Bowl pick for the NFC....however, I don't see the Pack dropping two in a row at home to open the season.  I think that the Packers will squeak it out, and it should be a great game to watch.

Bucs at Giants:  GIANTS.  I don't see Big Blue losing two in a row at home to open the season, either.  I think they take this by two scores or more.

LOCK:  Cardinals at Patriots:  PATRIOTS.  Does anyone honestly see them losing this game?  Anyone at all?  This will be a slaughter.

Vikings at Colts:  VIKINGS.  This was a tough one, but I got to see the Vikings last week as they beat the Jags, and they looked like a really good football team.  This really surprised me, as I picked them to go 2-14 this year.  Or, maybe they just looked really good because they were playing the Jags.  Anyway, AP is looking great, and Percy Harvin is a beast, so I see them taking this one on the road.

Saints at Panthers:  SAINTS.  I agonized over this one for a while, as I really just don't know what Panthers or Saints team will show up.  I didn't see either of these teams starting 0-2, but one will have to do so, barring a tie.  I'm going to take the Saints here, but this is one that I may switch before kickoff.....I just don't feel good about the Saints on the road after they lost at home to Washington.

WASH:  Chiefs at Bills:  CHIEFS.  These two teams infuriated me in week 1, and I don't know what to think of them this week.  I had more confidence in the Chiefs than the Bills before the season started, so I'll take them on the road, but this is easily my wash pick.  I need to see more film on these two teams this season before I have any idea how they stack up.

Ravens at Eagles:  RAVENS.  Like Tex, I, too, am utterly shocked that the Eagles are the favorites.  I just don't see them winning this game.  If the spread goes up to 3 points before kickoff, I will switch my upset to this game.

Raiders at Dolphins:  RAIDERS.  The Dolphins are the worst team in the NFL.  The Raiders are....not quite THAT bad.  This is the snoozer game of the week.

Browns at Bengals:  BENGALS.  The Bengals get back on track and take care of business at home.  Yehehehes!

Texans at Jaguars:  TEXANS.   The Jags should keep this close, though....beware all of you who took the Texans as your lock this week.

Cowboys at Seahawks:  COWBOYS.  I absolutely HATE picking games where Seattle is at home, as 75% of the time the road team is jetlagged or something and loses a very winnable game to them.  I think Dallas will overcome the odds, though, and will come out all fired up after their opening night win over the Giants.

UPSET:  Redskins at Rams:  RAMS.  The Rams were 20 seconds away from beating a very good Detroit Lions team, and I think that RG3 will suffer a setback in his second game.  Jeff Fisher will win more games than people think this year, and this will be his first.

Jets at Steelers:  STEELERS.  I don't believe in the Jets yet.  Win this game, and I might start...however, I'll take the Steelers at home this week.

Titans at Chargers:  CHARGERS.  Everyone was hyping the Titans this preseason, and I didn't buy it at all - I think they are easily in the bottom 5 teams in the NFL.  The Chargers will win this by twenty or more.

Lions at 49ers:  49ERS.  The Handshake Bowl!  I think the 9ers are a far superior team, and will control the game from the start, even if they don't win by too many points on the scoreboard.  Jim, keep your hands to yourself this time.  Yes, that goes for you, too, Jim.

Broncos at Falcons:  BRONCOS.  The Broncos looked great in week 1....so did the Falcons, but I don't believe in the Falcons this year, so I'm giving them their first loss in this one.

Last week: 8-8
Season:  8-8
Points: 0
